ClickBank Affiliate Marketing Vs. Creating Your Own Product

ClickBank affiliate marketing may be a quicker way into starting out in internet marketing, but you may wonder whether you should rather create your own product, or just sell affiliate products. No doubt, being the creator of your own product has much to say for itself -- you can sell it and keep all the profits, you can have pride of ownership, you can create an affiliate program and have others sell it, and you can re-package and sell the product in different formats and so forth.

But -- and this is a big but -- there's a lot of effort that goes into creating a product. Let's look at some of the things you need to do:

  1. Find a profitable niche
  2. Do the research to create the product
  3. Create the product
  4. Package the product
  5. Create a sales page, which requires:

    • Having hosting
    • Probably deciding and buying a unique domain name
    • Create, or have someone create, sales page graphics
    • Write, or have someone write, the sales copy
    • Set up payment processing

And, after you've done that, you also have to:

  1. Handle customer support
  2. Handle refunds

That can be a pretty tall order if you are just starting out!

That's why ClickBank affiliate marketing can be quite attractive -- it's a way to get started far more quickly. And, further, you can be saved from the bugaboo that haunts many a would be product creator: perfectionism.

In fact, here's a hint: even if you want to create your own product, you'll want to see if the niche you have in mind is profitable. And a great way to see if a niche is profitable is by first promoting an affiliate product in that niche. That way, you won't have to spend hours -- more likely, weeks or months -- developing a product into a niche that simply isn't profitable.

Using ClickBank affiliate marketing, you can quickly find an affiliate product to promote. If there isn't an information product in your niche being sold on clickbank, it can be for 1 of 3 reasons: 1) the niche is very new; 2) the niche isn't profitable; or 3) it's not a niche which can be promoted on clickbank (such as list building.)

By using the ClickBank Marketplace, you can easily search for hot selling products -- when you do a search, ClickBank returns the results in order of popularity, by default.

Using ClickBank provides you with access to thousands of products that you can promote -- and promote easily and quickly. All you need to do is sign up for a ClickBank affiliate account and follow their instructions. In addition, ClickBank pays reliably -- and after a few checks, you can even get your affiliate commissions auto-deposited to your bank account. To start out ClickBank affiliate marketing would be the logical route to take, however as you progress you will invariably move on to create your own products.
